WWE NXT North American Championship Match Set For January 22nd

Will we bask in his glory?

Roderick Strong's reign as NXT North American champion currently stands at 112 days, having defeated Velveteen Dream for the title back on September 18th 2019. Since capturing the gold, Strong has only defended the title twice. On the October 23rd episode of NXT, he overcame both Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic in a Triple Threat match, and he was victorious once again on December 11th against Austin Theory.

Strong's third defence has been set for January 22nd and a Fatal 4-Way between Dominik Dijakovic, Damian Priest, Keith Lee and Cameron Grimes was held on last night's episode of NXT to determine the number one contender.

Towards the end of the match, both Dijakovic and Priest had taken such a beating that they could only lie prone on the outside of the ring, meaning either The Limitless One or Country Power would be the number one contender. After a back and forth battle, Grimes ran into the waiting arms of Lee. Lee then hoisted him up and delivered a hellacious Spirit Bomb for the 1-2-3.

With that, Lee continued his momentum from 2019 into the new year and was crowned number one contender for the North American title. The question is, will we bask in his glory as the new NXT North American champion?
