WWE Raw Angle With Bron Breakker Done To Give Ricochet 'A Great Reason To Return'

On this past week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Ricochet was on the receiving end of a vicious assault from Bron Breakker. Coming to the aid of Ilja Dragunov, Ricochet put himself in the firing line for an attack by Breakker, who ended up Power Slamming him through the windshield of a car. 

This was done to write Ricochet off from WWE programming amidst the reports that he is set to depart from WWE upon the expiration of his deal. Ricochet’s contract is reportedly set to come up in the coming months, and it was revealed that he had given WWE his notice that he would not be re-signing. However, WWE’s recent angle on RAW was reportedly done to leave the door open to a return. On WWE’s social media, Ricochet was said to be injured due to the attack and would be absent for an undisclosed amount of time.

Per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the angle on RAW was presented as a big deal to try and convince Ricochet that there was a reason for a return if he had second thoughts on walking away from agreeing to a new contract. It is noted that WWE has ideas for him if he does stay with the company, but the belief across the board is that his mind is made up.
