WWE's Reaction To AEW Likely Signing Mercedes Moné Revealed
WWE’s reaction to the potential AEW signing of Mercedes Moné revealed

After seemingly being primed for a return to WWE, reports in the past week have suggested that talks between Mercedes Moné (fka Sasha Banks) and the ‘sports entertainment’ giant have died down, with Moné potentially set to join All Elite Wrestling instead.
Whilst nothing is confirmed, it seems the ball is in AEW’s court regarding an approach for Moné, and in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Dave Meltzer reports that some in WWE are speculating that Moné could still turn up as a Royal Rumble surprise, with reports of contract talks breaking down a red herring for the press.
However, others in WWE believe Tony Khan will push hard for Moné as a ‘counter punch’ after the recent departure of Andrade el Idolo from AEW, with Andrade likely heading back to WWE. Khan had previously admitted that he will be very active in the free agent market this year, as shown with the recent acquisition of former TNA Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo.
Meltzer stressed that until we see Moné in either an AEW or WWE ring then nothing is definitive regarding her future, but the ‘expectation’ is that Moné ‘will be in AEW fairly soon’, following up from an appearance at All In in August 2023.
