WWE's WrestleMania 40 Plans For CM Punk Revealed

CM Punk set for WWE WrestleMania 40

CM Punk's plans for WrestleMania 40 have been revealed.

The former WWE Champion returned to TV on the March 25 episode of Monday Night Raw, a show which emanated from the Allstate Arena in Punk's hometown of Chicago, Illinois. Punk was involved in a segment with Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins on Raw, during which Punk teased hosting WrestleMania and being the special guest referee for the World Heavyweight Title match at WWE's biggest show of the year.

It was then eventually revealed that Punk will be the special guest commentator for Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania. Elsewhere in the segment, Punk dared Drew McIntyre to say Vince McMahon's name on TV, while he also took shots at Jim Cornette's podcasts.

Punk was originally internally planned to challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania but he has been out of action since sustaining a torn triceps at the Royal Rumble. Drew McIntyre earned the title shot at Elimination Chamber and he has continued to troll CM Punk, with the 45-year-old suffering the injury at the Rumble following a Futureshock DDT from McIntyre.

Beyond sporadic TV appearances, CM Punk has remained involved with WWE at the WWE Performance Center. He was backstage at the NXT TV taping two weeks ago.
