After the frankly spectacular fall-out from the All Out locker room brawl, CM Punk’s days with AEW seem to be at an end, with some speculating that the ‘Second City Saint’ could be set for a hitherto unthinkable WWE return.

Punk himself recently shared images from his WWE run on Instagram, further fuelling the rumour mill, and during a discussion with Wrestling Inc.’s Nick Hausman, WWE NXT star Apollo Crews gave his opinion on a potential Punk return:

"It's not that I wouldn't be happy or I wouldn't be upset - I don't know if I'd really feel any kind of way, honestly," said Crews. "It's nothing against him personally or anything, but I don't know… I think I'd just kind of be neutral with it. But again, extremely talented individual, and only time will tell, right?"

Punk last wrestled for WWE at the 2014 Royal Rumble before a highly publicised exit from the company that ultimately ended with WWE serving Punk his release papers on his wedding day.

Whilst Punk subsequently burned his bridges with the company during a now infamous appearance on Colt Cabana’s Art of Wrestling podcast in late 2014, you can never say never to anything in wrestling, especially regarding WWE.
