WWE To Have Classic Set-Up For Saturday Night's Main Event
WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event to have classic set-up
Nov 11, 2024
Long-time wrestling fans rejoiced when WWE revealed they were reviving Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14, and it seems the company will be making the experience as accurate as possible.
WWE released additional tickets for the show in the Nassau Coliseum, promising that they’ll be ‘bringing that old school look and feel’ for the show. PWInsider confirms that WWE are looking to get that classic 80s SNME feel for the show, not just replicating the TV presentation of the old NBC specials, but also how the Coliseum itself is set up, with the arena hosting the first-ever SNME in 1985.
It’s believed WWE will be going for full arena seating for the show, with no sections set to be closed off for a major Titantron and entrance stage. Video promos for the show have used the classic branding and theme music of the Saturday Night’s Main Event shows of the 1980s, even using the track ‘Obsession’ by Animotion.
SNME is expected to be aired quarterly and the shows will be built up as pay-per-view-calibre cards. The reboot in December could also be the first WWE show for many years to feature Jesse Ventura after his return to the company, with the legendary ‘Body’ having provided colour commentary during SNME’s heyday.
