Colby Corino Returns To NWA After WWE Signing Falls Through
Colby Corino is back in the NWA after WWE signing collapses
Colby Corino returned to an NWA ring for the first time since December 2022, with Corino earning a shot at the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship on his first night back in the company.
The second-generation star was a surprise addition to a six-man scramble match at the Crockett Cup event on June 4, with seventh man Corino defeating Flip Gordon, Jarron Fulton, Gaagz the Gump, Eric Jackson, PJ Hawx, and Joe Alonzo for a shot at Kerry Morton’s title.
The son of former ECW World Champion Steve Corino, Colby last wrestled on February 25, before reportedly signing a developmental deal with WWE after a try-out in January. However, Corino’s deal fell through, with Corino himself admitting in May 2023 that the door hasn’t closed on him joining WWE but it isn’t a “right now” situation.
Corino debuted for the NWA in 2019, before signing a deal with Billy Corgan’s legacy group in 2021. When Corino and Morton will clash remains to be seen, with Corino looking to avenge a loss against Morton from November 2022, a match that was also for the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship.
