REVEALED: What Happened After WWE NXT Went Off The Air

Carmelo Hayes appears to exit WWE NXT

The April 16 edition of WWE NXT featured a high-profile main event as Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams looked to end their rivalry inside a steel cage. Just like at NXT Stand & Deliver, it was Trick Williams who picked up the win, hitting his former tag team partner with a Trick Shot while Hayes was holding a steel chair.

Just before NXT went off the air, NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov made his way to the ring for a staredown with Trick Williams, signalling this will likely be the next match for the NXT Title.

After NXT went off the air, Trick Williams and Ilja Dragunov headed to the back, leaving Carmelo Hayes in the ring alone. The fans inside the WWE Performance Center showered the former NXT Champion with "Thank you Melo" chants. Unlike Bron Breakker last week, though, Hayes didn't express his gratitude to the fans in attendance and he gave them a bras d'honneur before heading backstage.

The expectation is Carmelo Hayes will move to the main roster, with WWE set to hold the latest WWE Draft on the April 26 episode of SmackDown and the April 29 edition of Raw.
