Cesaro: "There Was No Plan" On SmackDown For Him Until Sami Zayn Recruited Him

Cesaro speaks...

Today, Cesaro performs on the SmackDown brand in the company of Shinsuke Nakamura and wrestler/manager Sami Zayn. Prior to that, he seemed to be treading water on the blue brand, after being drafted to the show in October.

Before then, following the split of his Bar partnership with Sheamus, Cesaro seemed to be adrift over on Raw, aside from a well-received series of matches over the summer with Ricochet.

Cesaro, along with Nakamura, took part in an interview with Alex McCarthy of TalkSPORT, where they discussed the origins of their group.

Said Cesaro of the union, "Sami and Shin were doing a thing together. A thing where Sami was just going crazy during Shin’s entrances [laughs] everyone’s favourite GIF every week. And then Sami was like ‘Yeah, I’m trying to get you into the group’ and I’m like ‘Yeah, OK!’ I’ve moved to SmackDown again and there was no plan so I was like ‘Yeah, I’d love to, let’s do something!

"So I said that sounds like fun and it’s a fun dynamic with Sami being… Sami. And then there’s a mutual respect with Shin but I think he’s one of the coolest people in the world. He can do anything and just look cool."
