NJPW Star Lance Archer Signs With AEW

The American Psycho is All Elite...

The hottest free agent coming out of New Japan Pro-Wrestling is a free agent no more. AEW confirmed on their official Twitter account tonight that former IWGP United States Champion Lance Archer has joined the company.

Fans won't have to wait long to see the new signing in action as Mike Johnson at PWInsider reported earlier today that Archer is set to debut on Dynamite next month.

The American Psycho has teased his future plans on social media for several weeks now, even bizarrely posting the WCW logo on Instagram, but AEW sealed the deal a short while ago with a tweet saying "Welcome to the team. #LanceArcher is #AllElite."

Archer’s hiring is very much in keeping with AEW’s mission statement if Jim Ross’s comments on Grilling JR are to be believed. When asked about who AEW were looking to hire, JR’s emphatic answer of "athletic big guys" almost immediately put New Japan’s departing star into the conversation.

AEW has already teased Archer’s first storyline in the young promotion, suggesting on social media that he may be involved with the Dark Order. Maybe if a certain Broken Warrior isn't heading to AEW, we could see the American Psycho be revealed as The Exalted One. We'll just have to wait and see.
