Report: Future Plans For WWE NXT Women's Champion Shayna Baszler Revealed

Is she destined to face The Man?

Shayna Baszler has been dominant as NXT Women's Champion since she regained the Championship at the Evolution pay-per-view last year. Her second reign currently stands at 396 days.

The Queen of Spades has also featured prominently on Raw and SmackDown over the past month in the build to Survivor Series. At the event itself last Sunday, she emerged victorious in a Triple Threat match against Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch and SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley, forcing the latter to tap out.

Throughout the rivalry with her two competitors, Baszler has had the most interaction with Lynch, and the two brawled with one another to close out Survivor Series. The Man put Baszler through the SmackDown announcers table.

According to Dave Meltzer, this is part of a conscious effort ahead of moving The NXT Women's champion to the main roster in 2020, with Baszler expected to resume her rivalry with Lynch.

He wrote: "The original plan was for her to be on the main roster in 2020. Based on so much of the build, and the match and post-match, it appeared she was being groomed for Lynch."
