Report: Vince McMahon's Reaction To WWE Raw Wedding Segment Revealed
He loved it!
This week's episode of Monday Night Raw ended with Lana and Bobby Lashley looking to tie the knot at their wedding. However, as with all weddings in professional wrestling, it did not go according to plan.
The segment involved three objections to the pair's marriage, including one from a returning Liv Morgan, and ended when Rusev revealed himself to be the wedding cake's filling and attacked Lashley.
Vince McMahon was "very happy" with the segment according to Paul Davis at WrestlingNews.co. A source within WWE told him that McMahon loves the storyline and is actually planning on introducing more outlandish ideas to the rivalry in the coming weeks.
The source added that WWE's CEO would actually like to do more similarly quirky storylines, but finds himself beholden to trying to satisfy executives at the USA Network and the company's sponsors who seemingly prefer more conventional rivalries.
For the avoidance of doubt, Davis penned: "According to a WWE source, Vince McMahon was very happy with how everything played out to end the show. The source told me, "Vince has wanted to do more crazy stories like this but he has to balance things out to satisfy the people at USA [Network] and the sponsors. He got what he wanted this week and the overrun did nice numbers so Vince is in a good mood.
"The storyline involving Rusev, Lana, Bobby Lashley, and Liv Morgan is nowhere near its end. The same source said, "they have things mapped out for the next few weeks and this could run until WrestleMania. Vince loves this storyline so much and he’s open to more off the wall ideas. All I can tell you is there is some Jerry Springer stuff coming."
