WWE Sign Two Seven-Foot Indian Wrestlers Trained By The Great Khali

They will be hoping to follow in The Punjabi Playboy's footsteps...

The Great Khali had a long and successful career in WWE. After making his debut on SmackDown in 2006, he was presented as a main event star during his first few years in the company. He defeated The Undertaker in his first pay-per-view match at Judgement Day 2006 and went on to feud with John Cena, Batista, and Triple H, winning the World Heavyweight Championship in the process. After his stint as The Punjabi Nightmare, Khali transitioned into a comedy role as The Punjabi Playboy until he left WWE in 2014.

After leaving the company, Khali set up his own wrestling school in Punjab, India and the school has borne its first fruit as two seven-foot trainees from the Continental Wrestling Academy have signed for WWE. The company announced yesterday that they had recruited three wrestlers from the Indian subcontinent and each had reported to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

The first signee was Gurvinder Singh, who is seven-foot-tall and an experienced cricketer. He also has experience in entertainment as a trained actor.

Sukhwinder Grewal was also a "titanic trainee" of Khali's, standing at seven-foot-two and 340 lbs. The 24-year-old previously played basketball before deciding to pursue a career in professional wrestling.

WWE also signed 25-year-old Laxmi Kant Rajpoot who has experience in javelin throwing and taekwondo.
