AJ Styles’ future in WWE remains unclear, and it seems as though the promotion are set to spin it into a storyline.

Recent reports suggested the multi-time WWE Champion is nearing the end of his current deal, and a report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter suggests that WWE are planning on spinning real-life uncertainties over Styles’ future into a ‘farewell tour’ storyline.

It’s believed that Styles was set to begin a storyline teasing either his exit from WWE or possible retirement, and despite suffering a recent knee injury this is still the case, unless MRI scan results show severe damage to the ‘Phenomenal One’s knee.

Styles has been with WWE since January 2016, debuting at that year’s Royal Rumble after a successful two year stay in New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Ring of Honor. The future hall of famer has been wrestling since 1998, briefly appearing in WCW in 2001 before making his name in TNA from 2002 until 2014.

AJ’s current WWE deal is legitimately believed to be expiring in either late 2024 or early 2025, and it remains to be seen if he signs a new deal such as other main event names like Drew McIntyre and Rhea Ripley.
