Atsushi Onita's FMWE To Feature 'Hell Deathmatch'
The Deathmatch legend continues to evolve
May 12, 2021
Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling Explosion's inaugural show 'Independence Day' will be main evented by a Hell Deathmatch, Japanese deathmatch wrestling legend Atsushi Onita announced today.
The main event will be similar to past Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatches. Two sides of the ring will be laced with current blasting barbed wire and mines will be placed outside of the squared circle. Two barbed wire current blasting bats will also be available for participants.
The 'Hell Deathmatch' will have one key difference, though, and a barbed wire current blasting table will be added to the mix. The evolution could lead to serious damage for Onita himself as he frequently puts opponents through tables with a Piledriver.
Who will compete in the main event has yet to be revealed, but Onita called for participants to come forward, saying (translated using Deepl): "I think the significance of being in this ring is that it's extreme. The match will be broadcasted to the world, so it will be a good opportunity to show off your skills. If you think you are the one, please come forward!"
Onita launched FMWE last week and the company's inaugural show will be held on July 4 at the Tsurumi Fruit and Vegetable Market in Yokohama.
Onita was inspired to establish the new promotion following the Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch between Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley earlier this year.
