Booker T On Why He Thinks Hulk Hogan Got Booed On RAW

Hulk Hogan’s appearance on the Netflix premiere of Monday Night RAW sparked a whole host of headlines across the world as the WWE Hall Of Famer was booed out of the building as he tried to advertise his beer, pander to the audience by mentioning all his legendary friends, and do all his usual Hogan schtick. 

Despite WWE’s reported unhappiness at the heat received by Hogan and the notion amongst WWE talents that Hogan ‘isn’t genuine’, the company are set to have him appear once again at the upcoming episode of Saturday Night’s Main Event on January 25. 

Fellow Hall Of Famer Booker T has given his opinion on why he believes Hogan was booed when speaking on his Hall Of Fame podcast. 

“You lose your focus when you’re getting older. I think that’s what Hogan has done over the years. He’s lost his focus. He’s lost his way, as far as being able to connect with young people… it’s like Hogan, god bless him, man, but bandana and tearing the shirt off and flexing the muscles and stuff, it’s only gonna work for so long, I think it’s only going to work for so long. [Hogan getting booed] had a lot to do with a lot. But I’m just saying, having that same character forever and just being, for instance, a regular person. It’s just kind of sad to see. I don’t know. I think it’s this era too. I think it’s the young people, they’re different. It’s a totally different world that we’re living in now. For instance, just say a lot of these fans who were booing, they’ve never watched Hulk Hogan do his thing. They’ve never seen the Andre the Giant match.”

It emerged after the show that Hogan believed the negative reaction was down to his political views.
