Former WCW star Buff Bagwell has been jailed in Cobb County, Georgia over a 2020 arrest.
Bagwell was arrested in 2020 for charges including not carrying and producing a driver’s license, open container violation, giving false name, address or birthdate to a Law Enforcement Officer, following too closely, and hit and run; duty of driver to stop at or return to scene of accident - per Cobb County Sheriff’s records.
The former NWO member explained on his YouTube channel that he is set to go to jail for 72 hours over a ‘jail sanction’ and explained what that means whilst adding he was sharing the news for ‘transparency’:
“A sanction means you’ve done something wrong, you’ve violated rules. It could be community service, it could be bench duty, it could be a fine, a sanction fine. Mine is called a jail sanction,” Bagwell explained. “But again, it ain’t gonna say, ‘Marcus Bagwell got arrested today for violating program confidentiality rules.’ It’s not going to say that. It’s going to say that I got a DUI and the world is going to think that I relapsed. That’s what this video is for, to let everybody know that I’m in a great place… this is just a little pause, a little crack in the road for me. This is nothing, but I don’t want people to worry.”
Bagwell has had multiple issues with the law and around his own sobriety for several years now, and was also arrested in 2023. Despite this recent jailing Bagwell maintains his sobriety, and has worked with Diamond Dallas Page in order to stay off the wagon.
