Chris Jericho Details Why Matt Cardona Reminds Him Of Bret Hart

Chris Jericho has been talking up Matt Cardona ahead of their Ring of Honor World Championship match at tonight's Final Battle.

Discussing the challenger during a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, Jericho likened Cardona's wrestling style to two-time WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart, saying:

"Matt Cardona — he's really done a good job of reinventing himself, of recreating himself. And dare I say, he reminds me a lot of Bret Hart. Everything he does is very solid, it looks great, he's very meat and potatoes in the best possible way. Matt's not the type of guy that's going to do a moonsault off the balcony - and neither am I. So we'll leave that to the guys that do that. And I expect we're just going to beat the sh*t out of each other with a raucous crowd who are sick of Jericho proclaiming to be the king of New York".

Cardona has reportedly been offered an AEW contract, though it is unclear whether he has signed with Tony Khan's promotion.

Jericho recently made a surprise appearance at a GCW show, where he shot an angle to further his feud with Cardona.
