CM Punk seemingly won't be on WWE programming for a little while.

Punk opened Monday's edition of Raw with a plaster across his forehead and announced that he wasn't sure what his future looked like, before he revealed he was going to go home and see his wife after not seeing her for five weeks.

Punk then stated that he didn't know if he would be back soon and thanked the fans before he made his way to the backstage area, being shoulder-checked by Seth Rollins as the former World Heavyweight Champion made his own way to the ring.

This led to a brief staredown between the two competitors before Seth admitted he hoped Punk would return soon so he could retire him.

Punk taking time off comes after his brutal Hell in a Cell Match with Drew McIntyre at Bad Blood, a match that saw both men bleed. Punk ultimately won the match following a steel chain-assisted GTS and the match received tremendous praise within WWE.

Punk's next feud looks set to last several months too as reports in August noted that CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins was planned for WrestleMania 41.
