CM Punk Teases Wrestling Return
Whether it will ever happen remains to be seen...
May 28, 2020
Since CM Punk returned to the WWE fold as an analyst on WWE Backstage, many have wondered if The Voice Of The Voiceless will step back inside the squared circle. Punk has previously stated he will only return to the ring for matches against John Cena, Daniel Bryan, Rey Mysterio, and New Japan Pro-Wrestling star Will Ospreay.
Whether Punk actually returns to the ring remains to be seen, but he teased yesterday that his time in professional wrestling isn't finished, as after FITE TV asked fans what their favourite CM Punk moment is, he replied, "TBD."
The Straight Edge Superstar is unlikely to wrestle in WWE again, however, as reports have noted that Vince McMahon has labelled Punk as the one man he can't do business with and only agreed he could be an analyst on WWE Backstage because they didn't want to damage their relationship with FOX.
This leaves Will Ospreay as the only option, but The Ariel Assassin recently said there was nothing currently in the pipeline, but the match will happen if the former WWE Champion wants it to.
The British Heavyweight Champion said: "It can happen. It can and the only person who can make it happen is him... I don't know how films work but I'm pretty sure if he was like, 'Hey, I want to do one more match. I know we're filming but its January 4th. I'm giving you plenty of notice, can this happen?' I don't know how this works, maybe they'll be like 'No, we don't want you to get hurt.' Okay, whatever. But like, the only person that can make this happen is him."
