Darby Allin Reveals MJF At Full Gear Is His Favourite AEW Match

Cementing the legitimacy of the four pillars

While Darby Allin has competed in several high profile matches in All Elite Wrestling against the likes of Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho and Cody Rhodes - even teaming with Sting in The Icon's first matches for six years - the former TNT Champion's favourite AEW match was against MJF at Full Gear.

The match was somewhat overshadowed on the card by the likes of Eddie Kingston vs. CM Punk and Kenny Omega vs. Hangman Page, but MJF and Darby Allin put on a very good match that was widely praised in the opener.

Speaking on My Mom's Basement with Robbie Fox, Darby revealed Full Gear was his favourite match because he and MJF proved that AEW's four pillars can steal the show regardless of all the new signings.

"In a weird way, I know it sounds crazy, but it has to rank number one. In a weird way, only because I don't like to give Max that credit. The whole thing with that is going into the match, I had a lot to prove mentally because there's all these new faces coming to AEW. We had to prove to them, the audience, that the pillars, so to speak, are going to steal the show. We did just that. So it's good not to get lost in the shuffle in these times," Allin said.

Darby also noted that he isn't finished with MJF and he plans to exact revenge by facing Friedman in an Unsanctioned Match at some point in the future.
