Eric Bischoff Reveals He Was Reluctant To Use Old WCW Trick Against TNA At MLW One Shot

The Monday Night Wars was a turbulent period for both WWE and WCW, but for a time it was Monday Nitro that was winning the war with Eric Bischoff and the nWo at the helm. However, the tide began to turn when Bischoff tried to pull off one of his signature dirty tricks - spoiling the RAW Is War results as the show was ongoing due to the taped nature of the show. Bischoff’s spoiler of Mankind winning the WWE Championship led to a huge exodus to WWE’s channel and a switch in momentum. 

Bischoff recently appeared at MLW One Shot, where he was placed in control of the show for one night only. When he was sitting on commentary during the broadcast, Bischoff spoiled the result of The Hardy Boyz winning a match over on TNA IMPACT as a homage to his back-handed tactics years ago. Speaking on the 83 Weeks podcast, he revealed that he was hesitant to do so. 

"I got to tell you, Conrad, I was a little reluctant to do it. There were a couple things that they wanted me to do, and some of them I didn't do. But that was one where I went, 'Oh, man, do I really want to do that?' I mean, I got nothing against [TNA]. Then I thought, 'Well, wait a minute, last time I did this, a whole bunch of people switched channels and went over to watch them. So maybe I'm doing them a favor.' So I talked myself into it and hopefully, it didn't hurt anything. I doubt that it did.”

Bischoff also recently appeared on an episode of NXT, but noted within the last week that he has no deal in place with the company.
