Former Owner Says Tony Khan Hasn't Treated ROH Very Well

Tony Khan's Ring of Honor criticised by Cary Silkin

Tony Khan's running of Ring of Honor has been criticised by the former owner of the promotion, Cary Silkin.

Tony Khan has owned ROH since he bought the company from Sinclair Broadcast Group in March 2022 and ROH TV has very much been an amalgamation of traditional Ring of Honor and AEW Dark with a whole host of squash matches taking place on the Thursday night show alongside matches over ROH titles.

Cary Silkin has previously been critical of the ROH product, noting he didn't believe Ring of Honor under Tony Khan had "gelled together properly", and that criticism has continued during an appearance on the Mat Memories from Madison Square Garden podcast

During a discussion of Ring of Honor in the 2000s, Silkin stated: "Ring of Honor of that era tried to show some respect to professional wrestling. Sure we had some wacky stuff. Sure we had the the flippy dippy do that was coming into fashion. The flippy dippy do was going on with Édouard Carpentier too...Ring of Honor, there was some good pro wrestling going on in that segment of it. Right now, Ring of Honor it's like no one cares at all. I don't care how much money Tony Khan has. It's not being treated very well."

Cary Silkin previously owned Ring of Honor from 2002 until he sold the company in 2011 to Sinclair Broadcast Group. Silkin remained an ambassador in Ring of Honor until 2022, often presenting a new champion with their title belt and sitting ringside for ROH main events.
