Joey Janela Issues Comment After Real Altercation At GCW Meet & Greet

A video circulated online yesterday of an altercation at a GCW meet and greet event involving star Joey Janela and fellow independent wrestler Dylan Bostic. Although over the years angles have taken place or have been shot at events such as this to build feuds, it was clear in the incident that things were legitimate. 

In the video, Janela is confronted by Dylan Bostic, who flips over the table in front of Janela. Janela proceeds to pick up the table to keep Bostic at bay, who in turn throws a punch, leading to a grappling match between the two. Those next the pair grabbed both men, with onlookers kicking and punching Bostic as the pair were on the floor. 

Their issues stemmed back to 2020 when Bostic aired grievances about the AEW locker room and payment, which many took issue with due to it being in the immediate passing of Brodie Lee. Janela messaged Bostic - something Bostic screenshotted, posted online, and then challenged Janela to a fight. Years later, this fight finally took place. They traded words on social media in the aftermath of this. 

Janela issued a statement on X in the aftermath of the video circulating online.

“Gonna nip this in the butt there’s a Video circulating of me getting ambushed at my table while I was meeting fans after the show tonight, it stems from him airing his grievances about his experience doing AEW extra work the day after brodie lee’s death that a lot of us were very upset about. I took to twitter because I thought it was disgusting and we went back and forth. Tonight 4 years later he flipped me and Megan’s gimmick table over, to confront me and we got into a scuffle, which resulted in the GCW crew thinking I was getting attacked by a deranged fan & Megan thinking it was some weird Joey janela skit. For someone that claims to have boxing training amazingly not one punch landed, and he was eventually carried out like a crying baby by Calvin Tankman. Sorry to all the fans that had to witness that it was an extremely embarrassing situation & sorry to all the Indianapolis crew that wanted to put on a great weekend of independent wrestling for the city. Sorry if I contributed to any of the unneeded drama.”

Janela later added another comment stating that he wouldn’t make any further mention of the incident, and that he was dealing with a possible injury, not suffered in the fight.
