Jon Moxley Wins GCW Championship, Is Confronted By Nick Gage

Matt Cardona's reign has come to an end

Jon Moxley is the new Game Changer Wrestling champion, after defeating Matt Cardona at GCW's The Art of War Games on Saturday night in Chicago.

Cardona was scheduled to defend the title in an open challenge. Initially, the opponent was Frank the Clown, whom Cardona quickly dispatched.

After that, G-Raver came down to the ring, flanked by a group of druids. Eventually, all but one druid left the ringside area. The remaining druid hit Cardona with a Paradigm Shift, and then revealed himself to be Moxley. Moxley then pinned Cardona after hitting another Paradigm Shift onto some light bulb tubes, thereby winning the title.

After the match, previous champion Nick Gage confronted Moxley, who told Gage that if he wants a shot, he knows where to find him. Gage said the match would happen in GCW, and it would take place in a death match on October 9 in Atlantic City.

Cardona's reign as champion ends after 42 days. He defeated Gage in Atlantic City on July 24, a match that gained notoriety for the post-match scene, in which Cardona was pelted by many objects thrown by fans (including pizza cutters).
