Kenny Omega's In-Ring Return Official

A feud between NJPW Strong Openweight Champion Gabe Kidd and Kenny Omega has been brewing ever since Omega made his return to NJPW at the Power Struggle event earlier this month, sparking a backstage brawl between the pair. In an interview with NJPW1972.com this week, Omega revealed that he was cleared and ready to wrestle Gabe Kidd at Wrestle Dynasty if the fans wanted. Well, that match has now been made official. 

NJPW have officially announced that Kenny Omega will take on Gabe Kidd in singles action inside the Tokyo Dome on January 5 at the Wrestle Dynasty supershow. This will mark Omega’s first match for over a year (provided he doesn’t wrestle before then in NJPW or AEW), his last coming on an episode of AEW Collision last December against Ethan Page. He has been out after suffering from diverticulitis. 

Omega revealed recently that the reason he decided to return to NJPW and not return to AEW was due to the fact that he felt like he owed NJPW for his success, and that AEW didn’t need him right now.
