Latest On CM Punk Potentially Returning To WWE

More on the possibility of CM Punk returning to WWE

The rumours of a potential WWE return for CM Punk will seemingly not go away until there is a definitive yes or no, with the controversial former AEW World Champion a hot commodity in wrestling despite reports of his backstage conduct.

With the merging of WWE and UFC under the TKO Group umbrella, this could potentially be a road back into WWE for Punk, due to his good relationship with UFC. When asked about a Punk return during an interview with ESPN, WWE CEO Nick Khan said the following:

"Listen, we only have respect for Phil [Brooks]. We appreciate his run here. We appreciate what he did and tried to do with the UFC. Not many people can actually get in there and do what he did. So, when we have respect for Phil, we wish him nothing but the best,” said Khan.

Whilst this may not have been a ringing endorsement for a Punk return, his value in terms of a box office attraction may be under consideration within TKO, especially with the resources at hand for WWE as a result of this merger, and with the massive WrestleMania XL set for 2024.

Past reports had indicated that a CM Punk return to WWE would be an Endeavor call following the merger's completion.
