Luchasaurus/Killswitch was recently admitted to hospital after suffering a bout of pneumonia, and it appears that his recovery won’t be as straightforward as initially hoped.

The former TNT Champion was admitted to hospital on September 27 after collapsing at home, with tests revealing he had pneumonia in both lungs, and was days away from permanent lung damage. Whilst intial hopes were that Luchasaurus would be able to resume training around late October/early November, an additional report from Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live states that there have been setbacks in Luchasarus’ recovery:

“He is not back in the gym and he will not be back in the gym for a while and he’s not going to be back wrestling, probably, for a while. And it’s hopefully, he will be back wrestling in a while.”

“Apparently, there were complications,” Alvarez continued, mentioning the Patriarch star may have had a compromised immune system as well due to other factors, possibly sleep apnea.

“He ends up getting this flu and bad oxygen uptake as a result of whatever else, turned into pnemenuioa. And apparently he’s at high risk for a relapse, is what I was told. The big concern is that after all of this, they’ve been running test after test, and apparently there may be permanent damage. They found calcification in a heart valve and his body is not producing iron and so he’s got a whole bunch of tests that he apparently has to take. It’s bad. It’s bad enough that he’s out of the hospital, apparently, but he still has to do oxygen.”

Alvarez went on to say that Luchasaurus requires oxygen at home as day-to-day activities can leave him out of breath, with no training allowed at the current moment due to fears of a relapse. Furthermore, Luchasaurus is not allowed to travel for four-to-six weeks, and will be looking to see a specialist as soon as he is able.

“I don’t want to say it’s a career-ending issue, but it could be a career-ending issue,” Alvarez added.
