Major Star Returning To WWE NXT

A major star is on their way back to WWE NXT.

Tiffany Stratton successfully defended her NXT Women's Championship on Tuesday's show from the WWE Performance Center, scoring a victory over Kiana James. Following the match, Becky Lynch appeared on the titantron and revealed she would be coming back to NXT next week to challenge Stratton for her championship, with the match then being made official for the September 12 episode. 

Tiffany Stratton and Becky Lynch have had a burgeoning programme in recent weeks since Stratton mistakenly called Lynch a former NXT Women's Champion in a promo, listing Lynch alongside actual former champions in Asuka, Bayley, and Charlotte Flair. Stratton has since appeared in the crowd on Monday Night Raw and the two competitors had a brief interaction at Payback when Stratton interrupted Lynch's backstage interview. 

Becky Lynch previously performed full-time in NXT from 2013 until her main roster call-up in 2015. She made a brief return to NXT in late 2019 as part of the build to that year's Survivor Series pay-per-view.
