Matt Cardona Returns At NWA 74 PPV

Matt Cardona wrestled his first match in several months at NWA 74

NWA held their 74th Anniversary PPV over the weekend, an event that saw former NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion Matt Cardona make his return to the company after sitting the last few months out with injury.

As part of his return, Cardona was allowed to hand-pick his opponent, opting to take on underdog Rolando Freeman, after Cardona cut a promo on his ‘enemies’ including ECW legend Bully Ray.

In one of the shocks of the night, Rolando got the win on Cardona out of nowhere, tying the self-anointed Internet Champion up with a crucifix pin out of nowhere for the shock win.

NWA later released a backstage video of Cardona angered at his loss, with an apoplectic ‘broski’ saying the whole thing smelled of ‘collusion’.

Cardona suffered a bicep tear at a GCW event in late May, with Cardona believing he’d be out of action for three-to-five months. Whilst this return was in line with his earlier prediction, it has not been confirmed if this was a full return for Cardona, or just a quick appearance before a full return somewhere down the line.
