Matt Riddle Cancels Indy Booking At The Last Minute After Attending Nick Hogan's Wedding

Matt Riddle left an independent wrestling promotion high and dry over the weekend after he suddenly pulled out of a booking at the last minute.

Championship Wrestling from Memphis held their latest TV taping on Sunday and Riddle's appearance was heavily promoted by the company. Riddle didn't appear at the show, however, and Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that Riddle told the promotion on the day of the show that he wasn't coming to the event.

Why exactly Riddle didn't make the booking is unknown but he was in attendance at Nick Hogan's wedding on Saturday, January 25. Clips of Riddle partying at the celebration have circulated on social media. Others in attendance included Hulk Hogan, Jimmy Hart, Rob Van Dam, and Katie Forbes.

One name who did make his Championship Wrestling from Memphis booking was AJ Francis. Former WWE World Heavyweight and TNA World champion Nic Nemeth is scheduled for their show on February 16.

Matt Riddle is the reigning MLW World Heavyweight Champion and he reportedly signed an exclusive deal with the promotion in late 2024. Riddle defeated Satoshi Kojima for MLW's top title on January 11.
