MJF Details Current Relationship With Cody Rhodes

MJF is still close to the American Nightmare

Cody Rhodes re-joining WWE earlier this year hasn't stopped current AEW star MJF from reaching out to someone he refers to as his 'best friend'.

Speaking with Sam Roberts on NotSam Wrestling, MJF opened up on his relationship with The American Nightmare.

"I'll still call him when I honestly need…rarely do I need advice – I mean, look at me. But I'll call him because I respect the sh*t out of him. I'll call him to get a second masterful opinion".

MJF and Cody were aligned in the early days of AEW, with Rhodes taking the up-and-comer under his wing. MJF inevitably turned on his mentor, leading to a grudge match at 2020's Revolution pay-per-view (which was won by MJF).

Cody left AEW in order to return to WWE earlier this year, resurfacing as the surprise opponent of Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 38.

MJF walked out on AEW in May, but returned at September's All Out pay-per-view and signed a new and improved deal keeping him with the promotion until 2024. He has been unafraid to praise WWE talent, singling out Baron Corbin and Sami Zayn during the aforementioned interview with Roberts.
