'No Chance' Of An Alberto Del Rio Return To WWE

Alberto Del Rio won't be coming back to WWE

No, Alberto Del Rio will not be making his way back to WWE.

Following a match on October 5, the former World Heavyweight Champion claimed he was set to go back to WWE in 2022 up until Vince McMahon lost power

The 78-year-old resigned as WWE CEO and Chairman in July 2022 amidst a sexual misconduct and hush money scandal. McMahon later forced his way back into the company in January 2023 and he is now the Executive Chairman of TKO Group Holdings following WWE's merger with UFC. The long-time head of creative is no longer involved with WWE in that capacity

Del Rio has claimed on several occasions in the past that a WWE return has been in the works only to fall through. Similar to those past claims, there appears to be little truth to the October 5 suggestion from Del Rio, with a WWE higher-up telling Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful there was "no f*****g chance" of a Del Rio comeback in 2022.

Across his two runs with WWE from 2009 until 2016, Alberto Del Rio became a two-time WWE Champion, two-time World Heavyweight Champion, and two-time United States Champion.

Now working as Alberto El Patron once again, the 46-year-old has worked 14 matches in 2023, primarily for AAA.
