Papa Roach Grateful For Success Of 'To Be Loved' As WWE Raw's Theme

Papa Roach talk about the influence of WWE Raw on the popularity of their single '...To Be Loved'.

In a recent interview with My Mom's Basement with Robbie Fox, US rock band Papa Roach spoke about the use of their 2006 single ...To Be Loved as the WWE Monday Night Raw opening theme.

The track was Raw's theme between 2006 and 2009, a connection which, according to frontman Jacoby Shaddix, helped the song's popularity. He explained:

"You know, we are super grateful that that song was featured on [Raw] because that made that track pop off worldwide."

Guitarist Jerry Horton gave an example of this, explaining:

"Funny story about that [...] we played in Germany with Iron Maiden and you know metal fans, especially in Europe, are super die hard and we were kind of freaking out. Like, ‘S***, are they gonna hate us? Are they gonna boo us?’ And then we came out to that song and they just went nuts, and everybody went, ‘Oh! They love us, cool!’ and then we were trying to figure out what it was. And then we found out after the show that Germans love WWE."

...To Be Loved was the lead single of the band's fourth album, The Paramour Sessions, which peaked at number 16 on the US Billboard 200.
