On this day 19 years ago, the 'big gold belt' returned to WWE. 

Eric Bischoff walked out to the Monday Night Raw ring on the September 2 2002 episode to crown WWE's first World Heavyweight Champion, reintroducing a Title that had previously been synonymous with WCW.

Having previously been retired back in April 2002, when the WWE introduced the Undisputed Championship, The Big Gold was brought back so Raw could have an exclusive champion on their brand, with Brock Lesnar being signed to SmackDown. 

The WWE World Heavyweight Championship would remain on television until late 2013, when it was unified once again with the WWE Title. In that time, there were 55 different reigns with the Championship, but how many can you remember?
