Report: Scrapped WWE Plans For Sol Ruca Revealed

WWE had major NXT plans for Sol Ruca

WWE were forced to scrap some of their NXT plans in recent weeks after it emerged that Sol Ruca had sustained a torn ACL. The rising star has since undergone surgery to repair the ligament and she was written off NXT TV after a blindside attack in the WWE Performance Center parking lot.

How long Ruca will be out of action for is unknown but it is considered unlikely that she will wrestle again on TV before the end of the year.

Prior to her injury, WWE had big plans for the 23-year-old. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there was talk about putting Ruca and Dani Palmer together as a tag team and giving them a major push on TV. Such was WWE's confidence in the pairing that they would have won the NXT Women's Tag Team Championships within a few months.

Ruca and Palmer did team together on the April 7 edition of NXT Level Up to defeat Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson and WWE ran the match back at an NXT live event on April 14 with the same result. Ruca hasn't wrestled since that encounter, however.

Dani Palmer made her NXT TV debut in Ruca's absence, defeating Tatum Paxley in decisive fashion on this week's edition of the Tuesday night show.
