Report: Update On Possibility Of Nick Aldis Signing With WWE

Nick Aldis is set to leave NWA, could he be WWE-bound?

With the news this week that former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis is set to depart NWA in early 2023 when his contract expires, wrestling fans have been discussing where ‘The National treasure’ could end up.

Aldis was also suspended from NWA for clashing with management and owner Billy Corgan, but in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that a potential WWE run for Aldis may not be as straightforward thing due to historic heat between Aldis and WWE’s Bruce Prichard, stemming from their time working together in IMPACT Wrestling.

Whilst Prichard has significant influence in WWE, especially when Vince McMahon was in power, any final decisions will ultimately rest with Triple H.

Aldis and Corgan’s relationship has soured over the past year, with Aldis believing the NWA owner disrespected Aldis’ wife Mickie James during the production of NWA Empowerrr in 2021, with the lack of a sequel to the all-women’s PPV also believed to have been a deciding factor.

A two-time NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, Aldis, joined NWA in 2017.
