Report: Update On WWE's Plans To Have Roman Reigns Carry Three World Title Belts

Roman Reigns has three belts, at least for now

While Roman Reigns was presented with a new Undisputed WWE Universal Championship after he reached 1,000 days as Universal Champion, The Tribal Chief has kept ahold of the old WWE and Universal title belts, with Paul Heyman bringing them to the ring alongside Reigns on recent episodes of SmackDown.

Reports indicated that part of the reason for keeping the old titles on TV was to transfer the history of the WWE and Universal championships onto the new Undisputed WWE Universal Title belt. The WWE Championship has been around since the 1960s through several redesigns, while the Universal Title has been on TV since 2016, with the belt most commonly associated with Reigns and his multi-year reign.

Reigns and Heyman will continue to carry the three belts on TV for the time being but Better Wrestling Experience has reported the WWE and Universal title belts will eventually be retired and will stop appearing with Reigns. How long they will continue to be used as part of Reigns' presentation is unknown.

When Reigns will next defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on TV is also unclear. The leader of The Bloodline is next scheduled to be in action at Money in the Bank when he teams with Solo Sikoa to take on The Usos in a 'Bloodline Civil War' tag team match. Money in the Bank is scheduled for July 1 at The O2 in London, England.
