It has been a turbulent week for Ricky Starks, who showed up at GCW’s Dream On event last week declaring his intention to compete despite being ‘frozen out’ of AEW, before being scheduled for multiple matches within GCW. However, reportedly due to comments made by Effy about Tony Khan, Starks was pulled from his GCW dates, only to be replaced by Effy himself for his planned match with Matt Cardona at the Highest In The Room 3 event.

This hasn’t stopped Starks from agreeing to other indie dates, as he has now been announced for House Of Glory’s Watch The Throne event on January 17 at the Logan Square Auditorium in Chicago, Illinois. The promotion revealed that he would be going up against former AEW wrestler Mike Santana, and will battle for the House Of Glory World Heavyweight Championship, currently held by Santana.

Starks has been outspoken about his position in AEW during interviews this past week, stating that he has several speculations over why he isn’t being used in AEW. His contract with the company is expected to expire some time in 2025.
