Roderick Strong Misses WWE NXT Due To Injury

Roderick Strong was nowhere to be seen on WWE NXT 2.0 on May 24

Roderick Strong has been ruled out of action by WWE NXT 2.0 after ‘rolling his ankle’ prior to the May 24 edition of NXT 2.0.

The news was broken on NXT 2.0 by Strong’s group Diamond Mine, with Strong’s scheduled match with Damon Kemp against NXT Tag Team Champions Pretty Deadly cancelled as a result.

In a backstage segment on NXT 2.0, Kemp informed the rest of the group that Strong had rolled his ankle during training and could not compete, with some members suggesting that Strong better be hurt, otherwise you ‘tape it up and compete’. Such is the Diamond Mine way.

Strong’s absence came the same day that it was revealed that Nikitta Lyons has suffered an injury in training, with Lyons being ruled out of the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament Semi Finals as a result.

The timing of Strong’s injury comes after it was revealed that Strong allegedly repeatedly asked for his WWE release, with Adam Cole admitting there’s a home for Strong in AEW should he want it.
