Sami Callihan Confirms IMPACT Wrestling Exit

Sami Callihan is set to leave IMPACT Wrestling

After it was revealed that Sami Callihan’s IMPACT Wrestling contract is set to expire, Callihan himself has come out and confirmed that he is set to leave IMPACT.

Callihan took to Twitter/X, and simply posted: “9.30.23 [FREE AGENT]”

Callihan has been with the company since 2017, but a recent report from PWInsider suggested he was set to depart at the end of his current contract, with the two sides at an impasse over a new deal.

A former IMPACT World Champion, Callihan was also formerly part of WWE NXT, going under the Solomon Crowe gimmick between 2012 and 2015. Callihan has also had runs with the likes of Ring of Honor, Combat Zone Wrestling, and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla amongst others.

Whatever steps Callihan takes next are unclear, but one would think he’d work with a company that would still allow him to run his Wrestling Revolver promotion. It should also be noted that Callihan is close with former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, with the two having teamed on the indies as Switchblade Conspiracy, with Moxley and wife Renee Paquette currently advertised for upcoming Wrestling Revolver shows.
