Stephanie Vaquer revealed she had the option to begin her WWE career on the main roster but she decided to start in NXT.

Speaking on Busted Open After Dark, Vaquer stated:

"I really like doing new things, but good. I don't like (going) fast, and not good. So, I say, 'Ok, I need to learn English. I need to learn TV show. I need to learn American style, WWE style. So, first I say, 'main roster' but change and say I want to go to NXT to learn. The first call when they called me and say, 'NXT or main roster?' I say, 'main roster.' I think and say, 'Ok, take it easy. I need to learn English, I need to learn. Ok, change, NXT.'"

Vaquer made her NXT debut on the October 9, 2024 episode on The CW. She is the reigning North American Women's Champion, having won the belt from Fallon Henley at Vengeance Day on February 15. Vaquer will face NXT Women's Champion Giulia in a Title vs. Title Match at Roadblock on March 11 and the winner of the match has potentially already been revealed.

Vaquer came to prominence in the Summer of 2024 following her Forbidden Door match with Mercedes Moné. Vaquer received an offer from AEW following the match but the former CMLL star noted she decided to sign with WWE because wrestling for WWE was her dream.
