Title Changes Hands On WWE Raw, Two Advance In King Of The Ring

Busy night...

The first night of the 2019 WWE King of the Ring tournament proved rather eventful. Not only did two matches from the round of 16 take place, but a title changed hands on the show as well.

In a bit of a surprise, Universal champion Seth Rollins teamed with Braun Strowman to win the Raw Tag Team titles from Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

Earlier in the night, US champion AJ Styles took a DQ loss to Strowman after Gallows interfered and hit him with a big boot. Strowman got the Tag Title match as a make-good, with Rollins as his partner, and Braun scored the pin on Anderson after hitting the powerslam.

Additionally, both Samoa Joe and Cedric Alexander have advanced in the King of the Ring tournament, defeating Cesaro and Sami Zayn, respectively. Joe defeated Cesaro after 10 minutes with the Cocquina Clutch, while Alexander finished off Zayn in under four minutes with the Lumbar Check.

Joe will face the winner of Ricochet vs. Drew McIntyre, while Alexander gets the winner of Baron Corbin vs. The Miz.
