The TNA roster looks decidedly different today than it did just a few short months ago, with several names exiting the promotion after the expiration of their deals.

Reports in late 2024 suggested that TNA management were looking to cut costs across the board in the promotion, with several talents asked to take pay cuts. Per a report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s suggested that TNA management saw several stars signed by former President Scott D’Amore as ‘overpaid’ and were looking to have the talents in question accept reduced terms.

Whilst some stayed on and either accepted new deals at reduced rates or accepted per-event deals on guaranteed money, the likes of Rhino, Trent Seven, KUSHIDA, Jade Chung, and PCO departed the promotion, the latter smashing the TNA Digital Media Championship at a GCW event to show his frustration with how TNA management went about business.

In the case of departing main eventers like Josh Alexander and Jordynne Grace, their exits were in part due to wanting to try new things, although Grace did suggest that D’Amore’s firing played some part in her decision to leave and join WWE.
