Tony Khan Admits He Misread How Fans Would React To Sammy Guevara & Tay Conti

Tony Khan recently appeared on Swerve Strickland's Swerve City Podcast, where he spoke about numerous topics relating to AEW. 

One, in particular, was the fan reaction to Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti, with Khan admitting that he initially misread the situation:

"Since [Tay has] come into AEW, she's had great matches. Obviously her presentation has changed and now it's continued to evolve with Sammy, and they've found something really special on and off-screen. [...] I was really happy for them, so maybe I misread how happy the fans would be for them. I think I've course-corrected that; course correcting, you don't try to fit a square peg in a round hole. I like Sammy, I like Tay. The fans like Sammy, the fans like Tay. I like Sammy and Tay together. The fans do not. That's where we differentiate. That is what I've come to accept."

Guevara and Conti started to receive negative fan reactions in the midst of their feud with Dan Lambert's stable. It now appears as though they've been turned heel, with Sammy recently losing the TNT Championship back to Scorpio Sky, who received a huge babyface reaction.
