In recent weeks, WWE has begun to make a habit of bringing back stars temporarily on Friday Night SmackDown. In the last month alone, Goldberg, The Bella Twins, John Cena, and members of The nWo have all appeared on the show.
This trend is set to continue as during last night's episode of Monday Night Raw, WWE announced Paige would be returning to the blue brand to confront SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley. Despite being retired, The Anti-Diva was teased as a possible entrant in the Women's Royal Rumble, so her appearance on Friday could be to set up an in-ring return. Paige has also admitted in the past she would like to be on WWE TV as a manager or GM, so this is another possible direction the company could go in.
Another WWE Star is also set to return on this week's SmackDown, as the company also announced Jeff Hardy will wrestle for the first time after almost a year on the sidelines. The Charismatic Enigma's return was expected as he appeared on a recent episode of WWE Backstage, in which he confirmed he had been cleared to compete inside the squared circle.
