UPDATE: Eddie Kingston Set To Be Out Of Action Until May 2025

Eddie Kingston on the shelf for one year

Eddie Kingston will be out of action longer than first feared.

The former AEW Continental Champion sustained a tibia fracture to his leg and ACL and meniscus tears during his No Rope Last Man Standing Match against Gabe Kidd at NJPW Resurgence on May 11. Kingston suffered the serious injuries when his leg smashed against the guardrail while he was on the receiving end of a Suplex through a table that was suspended between the barricade and the apron.

Kingston requires surgery for the injuries and he was expected to be out of action until January 2025 but Kingston has since revealed to PWInsider that he won't be able to undergo knee surgery until July 2024. Doctors have advised that he has to have physiotherapy to heal his tibular fracture first.

Once Kingston has surgery, the Mad King has been told it will likely be 10 months until he can make an in-ring return. This means Kingston isn't expected to wrestle again until May 2025 at the earliest.

Kingston addressed potentially being out of action for a year, telling PWInsider: "Not mad. I don't give a f***. it's what happens when you wrestle. Just gotta get f**king better."
