Update On If WWE Will Go Ahead With The Rock Vs. Roman Reigns At WrestleMania 40

Will WWE push ahead with The Rock vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40?

The WrestleMania 40 main event looks set to be made official tonight when The Rock and Roman Reigns come face-to-face at the WrestleMania press conference in Las Vegas.

Cody Rhodes initially looked set to face Roman Reigns in a singles match at WrestleMania 40 following his Royal Rumble win, and Cody was reportedly told as much by WWE. Rhodes stepped aside for The Rock on last week's edition of SmackDown, though, noting that he wanted to take everything from Roman Reigns and not just the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

Rhodes being replaced has since been turned into a work by WWE with the idea of making Cody the next 2014 Daniel Bryan and WWE fans have rallied behind the American Nightmare. If Rhodes will be added to the WrestleMania 40 main event to make it a Triple Threat, though, remains unclear.

Aaron Varble of SE Scoops has stated that WWE creative have not been told of any changes to the planned WrestleMania 40 main event of The Rock vs. Roman Reigns.

Varble tweeted: "I keep asking about #TheRock's #WrestleMania plans possibly changing, because that's all fans want at this point. Last night, a tenured member of the creative team told me straight up: 'We have not been told of any change. That doesn't mean the plan hasn't changed. Or won't change. Or this is all a plan anyway. It just means we're not being told.' In the end, it's all up to The Rock, who doesn't really care if he's booed or cheered at WrestleMania. It's business, and a match that has this much attention is money, like it or not. WWE didn't see those "Rocky Sucks" chants coming on RAW, that's for sure. Thursday will be interesting in Las Vegas."
