Update On Steve Austin's WWE WrestleMania 40 Plans

Steve Austin's WWE WrestleMania 40 plans heavily teased

Two Attitude Era rivals might be set for one more confrontation at WrestleMania.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin has been away from WWE since he came out of retirement at WrestleMania 38, defeating Kevin Owens in the main event of night one before Austin delivered the worst Stunner of all time to Vince McMahon on night two. Recent reports have noted, however, that Austin is planned for WrestleMania 40 along with other legends in John Cena and The Undertaker.

Austin's involvement at WrestleMania has not been officially confirmed but WWE teased The Texas Rattlesnake would have one more WrestleMania moment with The Rock during the March 25 episode of Monday Night Raw. The tease came during The Rock's beatdown of Cody Rhodes and after they tumbled outside, the WWE broadcast lingered on the production truck that displayed Austin.

Speculation on social media has hinted Steve Austin could interact with The Rock at WrestleMania in some capacity and WrestleVotes has added fuel to the fire. Along with images of WWE's WrestleMania 40 production trucks that have Charlotte Flair and Logan Paul on the side, WrestleVotes tweeted: "Everything is done on purpose. Two weeks out from WrestleMania, the backdrop of these WM 'specific' trucks last night would have sufficed. I'll leave it at that..."

The Rock and Steve Austin have a long history together at WrestleMania and they main evented arguably the best WrestleMania of all time in WrestleMania X-Seven. Altogether, Steve Austin has a 2-1 record against The Rock at the Showcase of the Immortals, having won at WrestleMania 15 and X-Seven while The Rock won in Austin's initial retirement match at WrestleMania 19.

The Rock is set to main event night one of WrestleMania 40 when he teams with Roman Reigns to take on Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. Cody Rhodes will then challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event of night two.
