WWE writer Brian 'Road Dogg' James contemplates something during an episode of WWE Unreal

TNA has received a mighty shake-up over the last few weeks, with both talent and backstage workers alike being handed their release from the company. Among those behind the scenes has included the exits of one of the top names at the head of creative, Tommy Dreamer, prompting talk of Road Dogg stepping in as his replacement following his own exit from WWE.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the new creative process in TNA will see Hunter Johnston in the role of lead booker, with both Road Dogg and Eric Tompkins (TNA’s Vice President of TV Production) expected to be working alongside him on the creative team. It is noted that Road Dogg is expected to be at the upcoming TNA Slammiversary show this weekend.

On the back of Dreamer’s exit, it was reported that the backstage culture in TNA was expected to improve due to Dreamer being an allegedly unpopular figure in the company. Another name who was sent packing was producer Sami Callihan, who was on the verge of being pushed to join TNA’s creative team before his untimely firing - something he was unhappy about.
